DAYS IN SLOW-MOTION is an engaging, entertaining and relevant family story. Ravi is a typical middle class child in India – he must have no ambitions or aspirations that aren’t academic in nature – or so his mother says. She has squeezed his life into a pie-chart that dictates 60% of his time should be dedicated to studies. The fun part is only 0.2% of the pie-chart.
Ravi defies his pie-chart and his mom when he stumbles upon a lost camera. 7 DAYS IN SLOW-MOTION takes a comical journey through seven days where Ravi and his friends are suddenly faced with choices, conflicts and paths less traveled: A mother’s dreams for her son, final exams looming large, an arranged marriage that may destroy a friend’s life, a tinsel-town dream the boys aspire to and an American tourist who wants to find his lost camera. Set in a middle-class India where the pressure of final examinations is the most defining aspect of a parent and child’s life during school years, this film deftly balances humor with life lessons to tell an important story.
Written, directed and produced by Umakanth Thumrugoti, a 15 year Disney Feature Animation veteran, the film is co-produced by Digiquest Studios. Director of photography is Derth Adams. The film features seven original compositions. Music composer Anu Malik (Monsoon Wedding, National Award Winner of the film Refugee) and songs are rendered by Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher and others.
